Dead & Company have returned to the mesmerizing Sphere in Las Vegas, kicking off their 18-show residency in celebration of their 10th anniversary. Following their acclaimed 30-show “Dead Forever – Live At Sphere” residency last year, the band’s return promises fans an even more immersive and visually stunning experience.

Last night’s nearly four-hour performance opened with a surprising and energetic rendition of the Spencer Davis Group classic, “Gimme Some Lovin’,” a first for the band. The crowd was greeted with the welcoming lyric, “So glad you made it!” The evening culminated in a powerful rendition of “Touch of Grey,” with the entire venue joining in the anthemic chorus, “We will survive,” and “We will get by.”

While the band continues to deliver unforgettable performances, the recent news of Phil Lesh’s passing casts a poignant shadow. Although details are still emerging, the music world is reflecting on his immense contributions to the Grateful Dead and the enduring legacy he leaves behind. Lesh’s innovative bass playing and musical vision were integral to the band’s sound, and his spirit undoubtedly resonates within Dead & Company’s continued performances.

Dead & Company’s commitment to delivering an extraordinary live experience remains unwavering. Their dedication to pushing creative boundaries is evident in the updated visuals showcased at the Sphere, which, combined with the venue’s unparalleled immersive technology, offer a fresh perspective on their evolving musical journey.

The band’s history is a testament to their enduring appeal and dedication to their fans. From record-breaking stadium shows, including setting Wrigley Field’s all-time single concert attendance record, to holding the record for most performances at Folsom Field and Citi Field, Dead & Company have consistently delivered unforgettable live experiences. Their final tour dates at Oracle Park, hosting over 118,000 fans, marked the end of an era, yet the band’s spirit lives on in their Sphere residency.
