SASQUATCH! Music Festival 2017 Gets Funky with MGMT and Vulfpeck
SASQUATCH! Music Festival released their 2017 to a wide range of response on social media. This year the four day camping music festival taking place May 26-28 will host Twenty One Pilots, Frank Ocean and Chance the Rapper as headliners. One of the reoccurring patterns that I have seen is a large outcry of negativity on social media during the release of major music festival lineups, and seeing totally opposite behavior taking place at the actual festivals. When I saw this lineup, the first two headliners were not my style, but Chance the Rapper is one of the best
Amazon Go to Open Tech-Fueled Grocery Stores
Amazon announced today their new technology-based grocery store in Seattle. The company has created an application to help shoppers connect with products. The app and store is called Amazon Go. If you watch the video below it gives a walkthrough of how the technology works. Amazon is pushing hard for a checkout-free shopping experience, but I'm not totally buying that line. Yes, customers do not have to check out, which is not all that time consuming overall. In addition, they do have to check in, so I don't see the big difference. Not only do you check in, but
Deadmau5 Releases W:/2016ALBUM/ and Tours Heavy in 2017
Deadmau5, a renown music producer from Toronto, has just dropped his latest album W:/2016ALBUM/, along with North American tour dates for 2017. When I first saw the album name, my original thought was, well Joel has given up on conventional methods, and is going rouge. Thank goodness for some variety. It might not be the best marketing move, but the album is amazing. Earlier in the day, I had an electronic group from Australia send over their material, and I tore them up for attempting to copy and mirror a broken pattern in pop music, and electronic music. This trend is
Australia Indie Pop Musicians Vallis Alps Set to Tour North America in 2017
Vallis Alps, an Australia electronic duo, has announce dates for their Fable Tour to help support their upcoming album EP Fable. Parissa Tosif and David Ansari create the soundscapes for Vallis Alps. Their latest track 'Fading' relaxing and chill music to wind down at the end of the day. The electronic music fade of using a female vocalist mix with an electronic beat is getting old fast. This band, and several acts like The Chainsmokers, Flume and ZEDD have had radio success, but it wasn't because the music had depth, it has more to do with the easy to consume nature of music.
Run the Jewels Drop Album Release Date for RTJ3
Run the Jewels have been working hard on their latest album RTJ3, and recently released a new track online, as well as the release date. RTJ3 is currently available to pre-order, as well as available in stores on January 13, 2017. Vinyl options for RTJ3 include Vinyl 4x LP (2x LP original album + 2x LP instrumental album), gold vinyl prints, and blue vinyl. The hiphop duo released a VR project in April for Record Store Day. With the group taking time in 2016 to work on this album, a piece of me hopes for additional tracks and B sides

Karen Marie Ørsted, also known as MØ, is going to be touring North America to wrap up 2016 with stops in Toronto, New York and concerts along the East Coast. Her 2017 tour will also feature live show in the U.S. Recently, MØ released a new video for the single 'Drum' on Sony Music Entertainment. “The video tells a story about moving forward and letting go of the past.” “Even though it sucks and we sometimes don't understand our own decisions—we have to go through with them in order to grow.” - MØ Georgia Hudson directed the music video for
Stream New Music with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis recently released 'Wednesday Morning' on YouTube. This marks the second unreleased track pairing with 'Drug Dealer' that was released in late October. The Seattle hiphop duo make serious lyrical progress with these two songs, but the beat structure lacks commercial appeal to get the message out to a mass audience. One of the elements that I appreciate about Macklemore's lyrics is his ability to cover complex and simplex topics. 'Wednesday Morning' takes the world back to Wednesday, November 9, 2016. For those that may have forgot what happened on that morning; Donald Trump was announced to

Nataly Dawn Tours the West Coast with New Music from Haze
Nataly Dawn, singer and songwriter from Northern California, will tour major cities on the West Coast this week. Recently, Dawn released a video for the song 'For the Record' on YouTube. The production behind the video is professional, and the tone of the videography matches her point of view on the concept to the album. Now as a 30-year-old, she finds herself in a period of self-reflection in life. “I called the album Haze because that was my general state when I was writing these songs,” she says, “It’s that feeling of ‘walking around in a haze.’ The uncertainty
