The Fillmore Auditorium and Sirius Jam On hosted a big night of live music with Galactic, Antibalas and Andy Frasco & The U.N. on Saturday, February 4 in downtown Denver. Music started off with Andy Frasco & the U.N. around 8:30 p.m. The Los Angeles crew of alternative blues musicians brought a positive vibe to the evening. Big Gigantic Brighter Future Tour + New Album

Big Gigantic is prepping for a new album titled Brighter Future set for release on August 26. The album explores a variety of vocalists to layer with the big beats from the Denver duo. This project takes listeners on a nationwide trip with a stops in Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, Memphis and a special performance with the Motet at Hulaween in Florida. Rowdytown V is set for September 23 and 24 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside of Denver. This hometown show is always a memorable weekend of live music. Friday tickets are still available. Saturday tickets have now sold out.

This marks a trend in electronic dance music that I first noticed with Gramatik and his recorded label. Pretty Lights uses a mix of selling new material, as well as giving away several albums. I find that this method helps pay the artists for their work, at the same time, opening up the music to listening audiences within different social classes.
