Galactic, Antibalas and Andy Frasco Mix it Up at The Fillmore Auditorium in Denver
The Fillmore Auditorium and Sirius Jam On hosted a big night of live music with Galactic, Antibalas and Andy Frasco & The U.N. on Saturday, February 4 in downtown Denver. Music started off with Andy Frasco & the U.N. around 8:30 p.m. The Los Angeles crew of alternative blues musicians brought a positive vibe to the evening. The Big Gigantic Incident Arrives at the 1st Bank Center in Denver
The String Cheese Incident teamed up with 97.3 KBCO-FM, the 1st Bank Center and Big Gigantic to host a top ten musical moment for 2016. As a warm up for NYE, both bands worked behind the scenes to practice and rehearse joint material for a hometown concert on December 29, 2016. The String Cheese Incident will be hosting a three night run to cap off 2016 with a series of classic New Year's Eve shows at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. On Thursday evening Big Gigantic will collaborate with SCI for a special encore set of live music in their home state of Colorado. The Congress Steals Hearts with New Album The Game
The Congress, Richmond-based rock group, has recently released their latest project The Game. “This is an album that has, in some way, shape, or form, been brewing for years,” says guitarist and vocalist Scott Lane. The alt-country/folk band has now released their second full-length album on American Paradox record label. As they tour to support The Game across the United States, The Congress is set to celebrate Halloween with The Motet at The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina. Big Gigantic Brighter Future Tour + New Album
Big Gigantic is prepping for a new album titled Brighter Future set for release on August 26. The album explores a variety of vocalists to layer with the big beats from the Denver duo. This project takes listeners on a nationwide trip with a stops in Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, Memphis and a special performance with the Motet at Hulaween in Florida. Rowdytown V is set for September 23 and 24 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside of Denver. This hometown show is always a memorable weekend of live music. Friday tickets are still available. Saturday tickets have now sold out.
Vertex Festival 2016 Combines Music, Mountains, Camping & Good People
Cottonwood Meadows Hosts +40 Live Acts Outside of Denver Vertex Festival is a Colorado music festival taking place August 5-7. The festival is hosting Trey Anastasio Band, ODESZA and Alabama Shakes, as well as 40 live acts. Vertex Festival 2016 is going to be their first time out, and with Gramatik, Lettuce and other artists that have sold out venues across the country to perform together with no over-lapping sets will be a special treat for guests onsite. This marks a trend in electronic dance music that I first noticed with Gramatik and his recorded label. Pretty Lights uses a mix of selling new material, as well as giving away several albums. I find that this method helps pay the artists for their work, at the same time, opening up the music to listening audiences within different social classes.
