SXSW Film 2017 Lineup Announcement featuring ‘May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers’
SXSW Film recently announced a strong lineup of film projects on deck for 2017. This will be the film festival's 24th year at SXSW. The festival will premiere over 90 films during March 10-18 in downtown Austin, Texas. The festival organizers have additional noted that: 'Midnighters, along with Short Film and the VR Program, will be announced on February 7.' Once agin this year, SXSW is hosting international filmmakers with the hottest films within cinema. Sundance Film Festival 2017 showed its true colors this past January 19-29. After ten days and 119 feature films being screened, the festival brought the best independent film to the forefront of entertainment during a dark time in our country's history. Amazon Acquires a Grateful Dead Documentary titled Long Strange Trip
Amazon announced today that they will acquire Long Strange Trip by Amir Bar-Lev. The documentary is set to debut at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Long Strange Trip will have four screenings at the upcoming film festival in Utah. Sundance Film Festival 2017 Adds Long Strange Trip, Reservoir Dogs
The Sundance Film Festival has recently announced four additional films set to screen for the 2017 event in Utah from January 19-29. Sundance announced the following films to debut: Bending the Arc and Long Strange Trip. Two from the vault include: Desert Hearts and Reservoir Dogs. Out of these four projects, Reservoir Dogs, is one film I don't find necessary screening at Sundance. With the amount of anti-gun films set to debut this year, it is my personal view that screening that violent film is in bad taste.
