SXSW Film recently announced a strong lineup of film projects on deck for 2017. This will be the film festival's 24th year at SXSW. Greener Grass, The Hollywood Shorties, Snowfall + More Premiere at SXSW SXSW will showcase and premiere dozens of new films over March 11-19 in downtown Austin, Texas. One of the emerging fields that will be a highlight at SXSW Film 2016 will be the VR/AR track taking place March 16-18. The Hilton Austin Downtown will be the epicenter for virtual reality-based cinematography. Creative Control, a film by Benjamin Dickinson, uses augmented reality glasses to develop a life-like avatars; but the characters are not always prepared for what happens when the line between reality and virtual reality begins to blur.
