The Trump Administration has Avoided Putting Tariffs on the Fossil Fuel Industry On Monday, the Trump Administration has opted to place tariffs on imports for solar panels and washing machines. This new tax would be a 30 percent increase on costs for solar panels coming into the United States. This move was extremely selective and damaging to the renewable energy sector. If he wanted to place tariffs on fossil fuels, as well as renewable energy, I wouldn't have as much as a problem with the administration's decision. That being said, it appears he is playing favoritism to the oil and

Tesla Motors continues to add new charging stations across the world to help refuel Tesla vehicles with cleaner energy. Tesla Motors has over 2,200 destination charging stations, with examples of these stations setup at hotels, ski resorts, Airbnb listings, and additional locations. They tend to only have one or two charging stations. Also, these tend to to be connected with lodging at hotels. The company also provides Supercharger stations with a mix of public and patron charging. These locations tend to have 4-6 charging spots for different vehicles. Earlier this year, we reported that Tesla had 795 Supercharger stations opened.

Traditional forms of water management is being tested and refined each year as the global population continues to increase. Recently, the American Association for the Advancement of Science reported that a group of researchers for Department of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that it is possible to capture and collect water from the atmosphere with the use of low-grade heat produced by solar energy. MIT added that in a report last year in Science Advances they reported that four billion people, with two billion of those people living in India and China, continue to face “severe water scarcity at least one month of

Project Sunroof by Google Provides Insight on Solar Power Production in the United States

By |March 17th, 2017|Categories: Clean Energy, Economy, Environment, Featured, Google, Tech News, United States, YouTube|Tags: , , , , , , , |

Google and Project Sunroof recently collected data on the areas in the United States that would be the most viable to produce solar power energy. They collected data covering over 60 million buildings. This project does an excellent job of locating and connecting with the cities that can have the biggest impact against carbon emissions caused by climate change. They released the top ten cities with the highest potential for solar power production. Those cities include: Houston Los Angeles Phoenix San Antonio New York San Diego Jacksonville Oklahoma City Dallas Albuquerque Google also reported data from their nationwide research.

Solar Power Running the Island of Ta’u in American Samoa

Tesla Motors and SolarCity has invested 5,300+ solar panels and 60 Tesla Powerpacks on the South Pacific Island known as Ta’u. The island of Ta’u has a population of a little over 55,000 people. The island is now being ran on 100% renewable energy. The power is transferred from the solar panels to Tesla Powerpacks where they can store up to 6 Megawatt hours of storage. With the Powerpacks ability to store energy, the island can go three days without sun, and still have enough power in the reserves to fuel the demand from the community. Fortune recently covered Telsa's progression in renewable energy

Greenhouse gases and pollution continue to reshape the environmental landscape. According the the World Metrological Organization: "The state of the global climate in 2015 will make history as for a number of reasons," said WMO Secretary-General Michel Jarraud. "Levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere reached new highs and in the Northern hemisphere spring 2015 the three-month global average concentration of CO2 crossed the 400
