Airbnb, is a network and community of people that utilize the sharing cultural of the Internet. Recently, the company has been making waves with customers violating homes and laws in multiple countries.

Peer-to-peer ridesharing in San Francisco is so popular, it has overtaken the traditional mode of using a cab for transportation. According to Gizmodo and the SF Examiner the largest taxi company in San Francisco is filling for bankruptcy.

For those new to the sharing economy, it is a way to connect peer-to-peers on platforms and apps such as: Uber, Lyft, Kickstarter and Airbnb. The middle men operating hotels, record companies and taxi companies have now been sidestepped in many cases. At the same time, it empowers individuals to work as self-employed entrepreneurs.

The waves that have taken place recently in the company can be seen as a reflection of connecting thousands of people, and empowering them to take on new responsibilities on as homeowners and car owners. In an era of sharing responsibilities, it is important to clearly state rules and regulations with clients to avoid problems in the future.

Airbnb hosts travelers in over 190 countries with over 1,500,000 locations to choose from. A short list of the top cities to visit include:

  • Berlin
  • New York City
  • Rome
  • San Francisco
  • Paris
  • Amsterdam

The company continues to show growth and upward motion in Google Trends. The traffic online is a good sign that the company is doing well overall.
