Taylor Swift's “Look What You Made Me Do” to Debut at the 2017 VMAs
The 2017 MTV VMAs will be broadcasting live this evening from the LA Forum starting at 8:00 p.m. CST.
Kendrick Lamar is scheduled to open the MTV VMAs. Katy Perry host the award show that is set to be broadcast live from the “Fabulous” Forum in Inglewood, California.
Bleachers, Cardi B, Khalid are on deck to perform during the pre-show. The preview event will be kicking off at 6 p.m. EST and 3 p.m. PST.
Additional performers include: Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Sir Rod Stewart and DNCE, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony featuring Gucci Mane, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Lorde, Alessia Cara, Logic featuring Khalid, Shawn Mendes, Kyle, Post Malone, and Julia Michaels.
MTV VMAs Pre-Show
Viewers can tune in for red carpet festivities beforehand, and grab popcorn for the main event starting at 8:00 p.m. EST.
- Bleachers are posed to perform ‘Don’t Take the Money’ during their time on stage.
- Khalid will share his international hit tracks “Location” and “Young Dumb & Broke.”
- Cardi B will perform “Bodak Yellow.”
- Lil Yachty, nominated for three MTV VMAs, will help host alongside MTV’s Terrence J, Charlamagne Tha God and Gaby Wilson.
MTV announced:
‘New this year, the pre-show spectacle will be supersized and stream live on MTV.com (vma.mtv.com) and on Twitter (mtv.twitter.com) beginning the hour leading up to the on-air pre-show (3:00 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. ET) and continue throughout the multiplatform simulcast.’
MTV also announced two augmented reality (AR) experiences, including a partnership to launch the VMA AR studio Moon Person camera effect on Facebook and a newly released collection of Moon Person holograms on the mobile augmented reality (AR) app Holo.
Powerhouse pop group Fifth Harmony will be taking over the MTV flagship @Instagram account to share all the behind-the-scenes moments leading into their VMAs performance ‘Down’ featuring Gucci Mane on Instagram Stories.
Previously announced innovations include first-of-its-kind Twitter bot voting in support of “Best New Artist” and Snapchat voting for “Song of Summer.”
