Residents in Boulder County Under Mandatory Evacuation Due to Wildfire

A wildfire has forced residents in the Boulder area to find safe shelter. Air quality is a major concern for the Boulder County area this weekend. KRDO reported that the fire, which is titled the Sunshine Fire, started in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 19. Project Sunroof by Google Provides Insight on Solar Power Production in the United States

Google and Project Sunroof recently collected data on the areas in the United States that would be the most viable to produce solar power energy. They collected data covering over 60 million buildings. This project does an excellent job of locating and connecting with the cities that can have the biggest impact against carbon emissions caused by climate change. They released the top ten cities with the highest potential for solar power production. Those cities include: Houston Los Angeles Phoenix San Antonio New York San Diego Jacksonville Oklahoma City Dallas Albuquerque Google also reported data from their nationwide research.

Uber and Lyft Arrives in Carbondale, Illinois

Two of the biggest ride sharing companies, Uber and Lyft, have recently begun providing service in Carbondale, Illinois. The city of Carbondale has amended part of ordinance to allow Uber and Lyft to operate, but that amendment does not take place until April 1. This has resulted in fewer drivers on the road in March.
