Debut Material from a Tenacious New Group Lone Howl is a five piece band from Southern Illinois. They have recently worked on a self-titled album scheduled to be released on June 1, and an album release party slated for June 15 at John Brown's in Marion, Illinois. This marked my first time covering an astronomy-based event. I experienced a learning curve at the same time as working on production. In the past, I have produced over 200 videos on YouTube, but this marked my first time producing a short film with narration that was over ten minutes in length. The story shows the events that unfolded during the 2017 solar eclipse in a very unique location from Southern Illinois. The 2017

One of the most anticipated solar eclipses will be taking place this upcoming August 21. The United States will be looking to the sky to witness the first totality crossing the country's Pacific coast and Atlantic coast since 1918. Astronomers and Astrologists will be traveling from all over the world to pack in sections of the United States to witness the totality of the solar eclipse. (Totality is defined within Astronomy as: 'the moment or duration of total obscuration of the sun or moon during an eclipse.') The key word in the definition is 'obscuration.' As many travelers plan

Two of the biggest ride sharing companies, Uber and Lyft, have recently begun providing service in Carbondale, Illinois. The city of Carbondale has amended part of ordinance to allow Uber and Lyft to operate, but that amendment does not take place until April 1. This has resulted in fewer drivers on the road in March. With it being St. Patrick's Day, I hope the city would be comfortable for drivers to work on this holiday. After April 1, the two companies will have service widely available in Southern Illinois. One quick tip to using Uber and Lyft: download both applications,

The doors opened at 8 p.m. and the Way Down Wanderers performed from 9-10 p.m. Their traditional bluegrass sound reminded me of the Henhouse Prowlers. Both bands showcase the Chicago bluegrass style, and I enjoyed listening to their approach to live music before the Jeff Austin Band got ready to go.
