In the Sonoran Desert south of Tucson on weekend of February 2nd – 5th, artists, music lovers, and gem and mineral enthusiasts gathered together for a meeting of the minds. The Gem and Jam Music Festival, which coincides with the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, is every bit as much as of an art festival as a music festival. Gem and Jam music festival, taking place in Tucson from February 2 – 5, released its full schedule today. Gem and Jam kicks off the weekend strong with a Thursday pre-party at no additional cost. Closing out the night and setting the mood for the festival will be EOTO, the totally improvisational electronica duo comprised of Jason Hann and Michael Travis of The String Cheese Incident. Lotus, the premiere electronica rock group, has recently announced additional tour dates for their 2017 Winter Tour. The band is set to celebrate NYE in Pittsburgh at Stage AE with RJD2 on the 30th, and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong on the 31st. The 2017 will feature the opening acts: El Ten Eleven joins us February 7-11 (Reno, San Fran, Portland OR, Eugene). Pigeons Playing Ping Pong opens March 1-4 (Columbia MO, Grand Rapids, Columbus). Gem and Jam Festival, being held February 2 – 5 in Tucson, AZ, may have a new venue, but it hasn’t strayed far from its roots. The festival started out as an afterparty for the internationally renowned Tucson Gem and Mineral Show and blossomed into an event capable of standing on its own.
