Nataly Dawn Tours the West Coast with New Music from Haze
Nataly Dawn, singer and songwriter from Northern California, will tour major cities on the West Coast this week. Recently, Dawn released a video for the song 'For the Record' on YouTube. The production behind the video is professional, and the tone of the videography matches her point of view on the concept to the album. Now as a 30-year-old, she finds herself in a period of self-reflection in life. “I called the album Haze because that was my general state when I was writing these songs,” she says, “It’s that feeling of ‘walking around in a haze.’ The uncertainty
Donald Trump has been Elected as the 45th President of the United States
Election 2016 has been by far the most dysfunctional presidential election in recent history. After the election, it is only fitting to have a former reality television star become the 45th President of the United States following months of abusive language. NPR and the New York Times have both reported that Donald Trump has secured enough votes to become elected the next president. The most damaging effects will come from his tax plan, (which will lower the business tax rate from 35 percent to 15 percent, once again showing the world that the trickle down system does not work) his
Suwannee Hulaween 2016 Returns to Live Oak, Florida in Grand Fashion
Suwannee Hulaween 2016 held their fourth annual music festival in Live Oak, Florida on October 27-30. Silver Wrapper, Suwannee Music Park, Purple Hat Productions and The String Cheese Incident brought in My Morning Jacket, Disclosure and Big Gigantic to help headline the four day camping music festival. Tony Smith, writer for Crescent Vale, has covered the event in 2014, 2015 and again this year in 2016. He pointed out that the attendance felt like it is was just as large as in 2015, with slight less people. Suwannee Hulaween capped attendance this year at 20,000 fans. Last year they reported to
Suwannee Hulaween 2016 Review and Multimedia from Sunday, October 30
On the final day of Suwannee Hulaween 2016, the event organizers planned to cap off the entertainment with Big Gigantic on the Meadow Stage. Suwannee Hulaween 2016. Photo by: Matthew McGuire. The day started off hotter in comparison to the other three days with less clouds and more sunlight. We were lucky to have an overcast for most of the weekend. Overall the weather was spectacular. My day kicked off with bluegrass from The Travelin' McCourys. The lineup to the band looked like it might have changed since the last time I had seen them in 2012.
The String Cheese Incident Burns Down the House for Halloween 2016
Guests, vendors, artists and musicians gathered once again on Saturday to celebrate the end of summer. The Spirit Lake area provided room for a wide range of creative talent to showcase their skills in costume design, wood working, lightening, painting, yoga, mediation, music, slacklining, juggling and hula hooping. Larry Keel and company at Hulaween. Photo by: Matthew McGuire After checking in with the media area, the first set of live music I caught was with Larry Keel and company. The live group consisted of Drew Emmitt, Andy Thorn, (from Leftover Salmon,) and Jenny Keel on upright bass. The
Suwannee Hulaween Hosts My Morning Jacket, Gramatik and Yoga
Suwannee Hulaween officially opened the festival gates to guests with three days passes. On Friday the festival hosted live entertainment featuring: Karl Denson, Gramatik, The String Cheese Incident, Future Rock and many more talented musicians. It marked my first time covering the event with Tony. My primary goal was to capture the event with photos and film, but with such an expansive festival, I wanted to help him out with the context and background on the live performances. Hulaween 2016 Hosts the Most Wicked Pre-Party in Camping Music Festival History
4 stages, 24 total acts, including EOTO, Marco Benevento, a late night Greensky Bluegrass show, and 2 sets of Umphrey’s McGee. That’s what you call a Pre-Party at Suwannee Hulaween! Needless to say the bar was set high early in the weekend. Marco Benevento was the first of many to funk up the Amphitheater stage during the extra warm afternoon. EOTO & Friends As always EOTO helped get this party going on Thursday, but taking the stage somewhat earlier than last year and being joined by Umphrey’s McGee’s guitarist Jake Cinniger and Break Science’s Borahm Lee.
