In the Sonoran Desert south of Tucson on weekend of February 2nd – 5th, artists, music lovers, and gem and mineral enthusiasts gathered together for a meeting of the minds. The Gem and Jam Music Festival, which coincides with the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, is every bit as much as of an art festival as a music festival. This unique blend of people creates an idyllic environment bursting with creativity. The Fillmore Auditorium and Sirius Jam On hosted a big night of live music with Galactic, Antibalas and Andy Frasco & The U.N. on Saturday, February 4 in downtown Denver. Music started off with Andy Frasco & the U.N. around 8:30 p.m. The Los Angeles crew of alternative blues musicians brought a positive vibe to the evening. Sundance Film Festival 2017 showed its true colors this past January 19-29. After ten days and 119 feature films being screened, the festival brought the best independent film to the forefront of entertainment during a dark time in our country's history. As the political pendulum swings back and forth, people all over the country experience a wide range of emotions. A beautiful piece to the Sundance festival is the freedom to express different points of view to help audience members express their own emotions during playback. AEG Live, Colorado Culture and a group of music lovers hosted the 6th Annual Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks with ZEDD, Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals, Lil Dicky, Lophiile and DJ Cassidy live on stage. Push the boundaries of 2017 with the largest group protest in the history of the United States. TIME reports that close to 2.9 million people collectivity stood against the current administration staff within the White House. Women and men off all different colors, protested for equality and the right to have their voices heard on topics concerning them the most. On January 12 & 13 the iHeartRadio Theater hosted two performances featuring Jimmy Eat World and Brantley Gilbert. Both performances brought out different styles in pop music. The 2017 Golden Globe Awards was held January 8 in Beverly Hill, California. This marked the 74th Golden Globe Awards, and delivered big with international film and cinema. Twenty sixteen has been a year for the record books regarding a large variety of topics. First, we want to thank everyone for taking the time to review our coverage that connects audiences all over the globe with news covering music, film, technology and additional industries during 2016. It was exciting to bring on two new multimedia producers with Lindsey Tucker and Samantha Harvey joining the team. They helped add content for festivals in Florida and Colorado.
