Uber and Lyft Arrives in Carbondale, Illinois

Two of the biggest ride sharing companies, Uber and Lyft, have recently begun providing service in Carbondale, Illinois. The city of Carbondale has amended part of ordinance to allow Uber and Lyft to operate, but that amendment does not take place until April 1. This has resulted in fewer drivers on the road in March. With it being St. Patrick's Day, I hope the city would be comfortable for drivers to work on this holiday. After April 1, the two companies will have service widely available in Southern Illinois. In 2014, the festival grounds were expanded, allowing for an increased capacity of 20,000 per day. Saturday and Sunday sold out, and Friday drew 19,000 fans.
