Amazon Acquires a Grateful Dead Documentary titled Long Strange Trip

Amazon announced today that they will acquire Long Strange Trip by Amir Bar-Lev. The documentary is set to debut at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Long Strange Trip will have four screenings at the upcoming film festival in Utah. Business Wire and Amazon spoke with the director of the film Amir Bar-Lev, as well as band members from the Grateful Dead featuring Bob Weir and Micky Hart: "I first reached out to the Grateful Dead about this film back in 2003," said Bar-Lev. The Sundance Film Festival has recently announced four additional films set to screen for the 2017 event in Utah from January 19-29. Sundance announced the following films to debut: Bending the Arc and Long Strange Trip. Two from the vault include: Desert Hearts and Reservoir Dogs. Out of these four projects, Reservoir Dogs, is one film I don't find necessary screening at Sundance.
