Gem and Jam Festival 2017 Review and Photos
In the Sonoran Desert south of Tucson on weekend of February 2nd – 5th, artists, music lovers, and gem and mineral enthusiasts gathered together for a meeting of the minds. The Gem and Jam Music Festival, which coincides with the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, is every bit as much as of an art festival as a music festival. This unique blend of people creates an idyllic environment bursting with creativity. When entering the festival, I was first taken aback at the variety and number of art installations, paintings and live painters. A pyramid decorated with a dragon motif
The String Cheese Incident Hosts a Wild NYE Celebration in Colorado
The String Cheese Incident continued the tradition of ringing in the new year at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. Their New Year's Eve show consisted of three live sets of music from the group. They lead into the Saturday night of music after two nights of performing with Big Gigantic and The Floozies. Each of those shows were memorable, but fans packed in the 1st Bank Center on New Year's Eve 2016 to get their fill of The String Cheese Incident. It marked my first time covering an event at the arena, and was overall happy to

The World’s Greatest Treasure Hunt at the Gem and Jam Festival

The festival started out as an afterparty for the internationally renowned Tucson Gem and Mineral Show and blossomed into an event capable of standing on its own. This year the festival will be held at the Pima County Fairgrounds, a 640 acre venue in the desert south of Tucson, and will offer camping for the first time to provide a truly immersive experience. However, to ensure festival goers don’t miss out on

Suwannee Hulaween 2016 Review and Multimedia from Sunday, October 30
On the final day of Suwannee Hulaween 2016, the event organizers planned to cap off the entertainment with Big Gigantic on the Meadow Stage. Suwannee Hulaween 2016. Photo by: Matthew McGuire. The day started off hotter in comparison to the other three days with less clouds and more sunlight. We were lucky to have an overcast for most of the weekend. Overall the weather was spectacular. My day kicked off with bluegrass from The Travelin' McCourys. The lineup to the band looked like it might have changed since the last time I had seen them in 2012.

On Friday the festival hosted live entertainment featuring: Karl Denson, Gramatik, The String Cheese Incident, Future Rock and many more talented musicians. It marked my first time covering the event with Tony.
