Spotify is Hit With a 1.6 Billion Lawsuit from Wixen Music Publishing Inc Classic songs from Weezer, Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty, Neil Young and the Doors have been getting spins on Spotify without proper licensing from their publisher. In a lawsuit recently filed in California Federal Court Wixen claims that Spotify has been using their music with proper paperwork. The 2018 lawsuit follows another one from last year where Spotify paid $43 million dollars for failing to pay royalties on some of the songs they used on their platform. LouFest Music Festival hosted over 60,000 attendees for their eighth year in St. Louis on September 9 and 10. This year they relocated to a new section of Forest Park to nearby The Muny Theater. The festival hosted local talented, national acts, and international bands on three stages. In 2017, the event sold over 30 percent of tickets to attendees outside a 100 mile radius of St. Louis. A lot of sunshine is on tap this weekend in St. Louis for the 2017 LouFest Music Festival. The festival has made a slight shift to the location with the stage area now being stationed away Central Fields, and moved to the Upper Muny Grounds. I am looking forward to celebrating LouFest once again this year in Forest Park, but in a new section of downtown St. Louis. LouFest 2017 has released their daily lineup and daily tickets for the upcoming event to take place in St. Louis, Missouri in Forest Park on September 9 & 10. On Saturday Snoop Dogg and Cage the Elephant will headline, and on Sunday Weezer and Run the Jewels will perform live on stage. LouFest 2017 has released their lineup featuring Weezer, Cage the Elephant, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, as well as more acts being announced on May 30. The festival will be held in Forest Park, within St. Louis this upcoming September 9-10. Once the lineup is complete, over 30 acts will be hosting one of the biggest and best parties in the heart of St. Louis. Meadows Music Festival 2017 books headliners Jay-Z, RHCP, Gorillaz
Citi Field in Queens, New York City is going to host the 2017 Meadows Music Festival with Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Gorillaz headlining the event from September 15-17. A special performance is booked with LL Cool J featuring DJ Z-Trip. Additional acts include: Nas, Weezer, Future, M.I.A., Big Gigantic, Bassnectar, Run the Jewels, Erykah Badu, Foster the People, De La Soul and over 50 live performances. The Hangout Music Festival makes Weekend at Bernie's look like a weekend at a regular beach, with no music. The film Weekend at Bernie's was released in 1983, and some of the people reading this article were probably not old enough to watch the film to get that first joke, but for those that had cable in the '80s, it was one of the only films on television. The Hangout Music Festival announced their daily lineup yesterday. This year the festival will host over 90 live acts over 4 days in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Hangout Fest will first host their Thursday Pre-party with Migos, Cherub, Tchami, and DJ Jazzy Jeff. This pre-party lineup is more condensed in comparison to pervious years.
