Tribeca Film Festival 2016 Announces Short Film Selections, Feature Film Lineup
Spotlight, Midnight, Centerpiece and Special Screening at Tribeca Tribeca Film Festival has announced the second half of their feature films, as well as their short film projects set to debut this April 13-24. This year, within the Opening Film category, Tribeca will feature Holidays. In the Virtual Arcade, the festival is exhibiting Holidays: Christmas VR, which is tied to Christmas, a part of the Holidays anthology feature. Tribeca Film Festival Launches Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Projects
77 World Premieres, 8 International Premieres The Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, has announced the first half of their feature films, which includes: U.S. Narrative and International Narrative competition sections, as well as the Documentary competition selections. Tribeca is stepping up their presence with virtual and augmented reality projects with VR headset content, five immersive installations and the virtual arcade. VIRTUAL ARCADE Virtual Arcade debuts at the 2016 Festival, helping to expand the immersive entertainment slate with additional VR experiences from some of the leading creators and emerging voices in this new medium. Worldwide Cultural is Celebrated at Tribeca 2016 The Tribeca Film Festival will be premiering over 20 virtual reality installations at the event this year. Tribeca has noted that 16 of them will be making their world debut. Maasai, a virtual reality project produced by Felix & Paul Studios, will be making their mark at the event. Felix & Paul Studios will be a “Featured Creator” at the Tribeca Festival Hub for 2016. A civil discussion unfolds during the remastered 1928 film 'Speedy' by DJ Z-Trip. Tribeca Film Festival recently premiered the short film at the festival, and now they are providing it to view online. Zach Sciacca, also known as DJ Z-Trip, crafts remixed audio, and sound effects to overlay with the visuals from the original film. He strings together beats to 'Fire' by the Ohio Players and 'Pass the Courvoisier' by Busta Rhymes and Pharrell to capture the uprising energy of the hip-hop movement in connection with the ass-steaming energy from the shopkeeper in the short film.
