The 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby took place today in Churchill Downs. Irish War Cry and jockey Rajiv Maragh were heavy favorites leading into the race. Always Dreaming picked up the win with trainer Todd Pletcher and jockey John Velazquez. This marked the trainer and jockey's second career Kentucky Derby win.
