Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers North American Tour featuring Joe Walsh & Chris Stapleton
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are hitting the road in 2017 to celebrate their 40th Anniversary Tour with a kickoff show in Oklahoma on 4/20/2016. Joe Walsh will join The Heartbreakers on the road for several of the dates. In addition, Chris Stapleton will also appear as a special guest at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, and for two nights at the Marcus Amphitheater at Milwaukee’s Summerfest. Tickets for all of the newly announced shows, except for two concerts at New York City’s Forest Hills Stadium, will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 16 at 10 a.m. local time.

Lotus Adds Dates to their 2017 Touring Schedule
Lotus, the premiere electronica rock group, has recently announced additional tour dates for their 2017 Winter Tour. The band is set to celebrate NYE in Pittsburgh at Stage AE with RJD2 on the 30th, and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong on the 31st. The 2017 will feature the opening acts: El Ten Eleven joins us February 7-11 (Reno, San Fran, Portland OR, Eugene). Pigeons Playing Ping Pong opens March 1-4 (Columbia MO, Grand Rapids, Columbus). Google Taps Artificial Intelligence to Aid with Renewable Energy
Google continues to expand their presence in the renewable energy sector with a recent announcement of going to 100% renewable energy by 2017. Amazon and Google are both making major progress within clean energy development. In Google's case, they are using DeepMind, a United Kingdom form of technology, that uses artificial intelligence to solve problems. The Guardian reported: “We are convinced this is good for business, this is not about greenwashing. This is about locking in prices for us in the long term. Increasingly, renewable energy is the lowest cost option,” said Marc Oman, EU energy lead at Google.

Universal Pictures continues to uncover new material from the ancient pyramids of Egypt with a new movie titled The Mummy. Tom Cruise attempts to replace Brendan Fraser in the lead role. The last time The Mummy had a theatrical run, Fraser was the lead actor. After three movies spanning from 1999 to 2008, the idea is being revamped for release in 2017. They should call The Mummy 4, but nobody is really keeping track. It is also a way from Universal to replace Fraser with Cruise, in hopes fewer people will notice the transition. The Forecastle Festival announced their 2017 lineup earlier this week with LCD Soundsystem, Weezer and ODESZA headlining the event in Louisville, Kentucky.
