Gem and Jam Festival Set to Shine with Mike Gordon of Phish
Mike Gordon has been added to the 2017 Gem and Jam Festival taking place at the Pima County Fairgrounds from February 2-5. In their 11th year, Gem and Jam Festival 2017 is bringing on Mike Gordon, bassist for Phish, to perform his solo material during the live event. Gordon has worked with Leo Kottke, and a backing band to create a unique sound and style. His solo material is more mellow in comparison to the high energy within Phish. The iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour is officially underway with a live concert in San Jose this evening. The winter carnival of pop music is making a nationwide tour with their first show in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday, November 29. The event showcased new and established talent with The Chainsmokers closing down the entertainment for the night. They were later joined by Daya for a visual-stunning performance of their song, 'Don’t let me Down.' Renown YouTube Producer Casey Neistat Sells Beme to CNN
Casey Neistat and Beme are set to merge with CNN in 2017 following a multimillion dollar deal. Neistat, the indie YouTube success story, recently started a video-sharing app with the company Beme. Overall, the company brought in users, but like many applications, it experienced difficulty retaining attention with returning users. Neistat pivoted with that company to working out a large deal with CNN for a reported 25 million dollars. NEXT Lineup and Competition Films Announced for Sundance Film Festival 2017
The Sundance Film Institute has announced the films for the Competition field, as well as motion picture projects in the NEXT category. Over 100 films were selected for the competition this year. 32 countries and 37 first-time filmmakers, including 20 in competition will be present at the Sundance Film Festival 2017 event taking place in Park City, Salt Lake City, and additional locations in Utah.
