The California Wildfires Get Relief with Rain, but the State Also is Experiencing Flash Flooding

Flash Flooding In Southern California Taking Place from Santa Barbara to San Clemente California continues to get hit hard with serve weather conditions. As predicted by the Farmer's Almanac, we reported in late December that California would experience rainfall, but we did not foresee the flash flooding issues. This rain does help distinguish the wildfires that plagued Southern California during the end of 2018. As climate change becomes more severe, the need to become more aware on how to protect ourselves becomes even more important. In the case of flash flooding ready.gov reports: Avoid walking or driving through flood waters.

The Thomas Fire and the California Wildfires Have Now Become the Largest Fire in the History of California

The Farmer's Almanac Predicts That the Los Angeles Area Will Experience Rain in January 2018 The California Wildfires have now become the largest in the state's history. One of the few elements that will heavily decrease these wildfires is rainfall. According to the Farmer's Almanac online, they are predicting that rainfall will take place in Southern California during the first week of January. In addition, they also note that rain will occur during the last two weeks. The Farmer's Almanac reports accurate data 80% of the time. In contrast, The Weather Channel is showing no signs of rain to take place

Santa Ana Winds Push the California Wildfires to Dangerous Levels

The Thomas Fire was 30 Percent Contained as of Wednesday Evening The largest of the California wildfires is known as the Thomas Fire. It will continue to cause havoc throughout the weekend. In addition to destroying over 700 homes, these fires are also burning up thousands of acres of agriculture in Southern California. The Santa Ana winds have been causing larger problems for the area in comparison to pervious years. The cities that are currently being effected by this fire include: Santa Barbara, Ventura, Carpinteria, Summerland and Montecito. California Wildfires Continue to Cause Havoc Across the West Coast

The Thomas, Rye, and Creek Fire Spread Across Southern California The local fire department in the Los Angles area has predicted that the recent California wildfires will be primarily contained by Friday, but the New York Times is reporting that the fires have continued to spread throughout Thursday. Dry conditions in combination with strong winds across the West Coast have created a powder keg of problems. The New York Times has also reported that the wildfires have caused 'burning more than 100,000 acres and forcing nearly 200,000 people to evacuate.'
