Jeff Austin Band tours through the Hangar 9 in Carbondale, Illinois

The doors opened at 8 p.m. and the Way Down Wanderers performed from 9-10 p.m. Their traditional bluegrass sound reminded me of the Henhouse Prowlers. Both bands showcase the Chicago bluegrass style, and I enjoyed listening to their approach to live music before the Jeff Austin Band got ready to go.

We covered the 3rd annual SPREAD Halloween takeover at Hangar 9. Since the inception of SPREAD we have been very supportive to the up and coming band, as well as Aaron Kamm and the One Drops.
