Abstract: The Art of Design Now Available on Netflix
Netflix has just released a new series titled Abstract: The Art of Design featuring industry leaders in design. Each of the eight episodes in the docuseries contains valuable interviews and points of view from established designers from different parts of the United States. The first season was launched on Friday, February 10. The following designers were featured in the first season: Christoph Niemann, Tinker Hatfield, Es Devlin, Bjarke Ingels, Ralph Gilles, Paula Scher, Platon and Ilse Crawford. Twenty sixteen has been a year for the record books regarding a large variety of topics. First, we want to thank everyone for taking the time to review our coverage that connects audiences all over the globe with news covering music, film, technology and additional industries during 2016. It was exciting to bring on two new multimedia producers with Lindsey Tucker and Samantha Harvey joining the team. They helped add content for festivals in Florida and Colorado. Netflix continues to roll out new programs in the fall season with The Siege of Jadotville, Haters Back Off with Miranda Sings, Mascots and many more. As the world's leading Internet TV network, Netflix is premiering new shows this September and October to compete with the broadcast/digital television fall season lineup of new content. My preview of the fall lineup displays some standout shows, and also looks at other projects that could be stronger in some areas. Grandmaster Flash Takes The Get Down back to 1977
Netflix is set to release The Get Down on August 12. The story tells the ongoing saga of New York hip-hop, and shows the birth of the art form, while living on the brink of bankruptcy. The location of The Get Down is in New York City during 1977. This historic view of music is layered with drama, and chronicles the transition to hip-hop during the last days of disco. It is told through the lives, and expression from the South Bronx residents who would impact the music industry in grandmaster fashion. The film does display gun violence, which I am highly against in mainstream film
