Engineers in California are trying new methods to produce renewable energy with their roadway system. Recently, state officials have gave the green light to a pilot program including piezoelectric crystals that will be installed on several freeways. The crystals generate electricity by a form of kinetic energy as automobiles drive over the roadway. This system has been shown to be successful in other parts of the world, such as Japan, and now will have the opportunity to help the United States transition to renewable energy. EcoWatch notes: In fact, scientists estimate the energy generated from piezoelectric crystals on a 10-mile

Grandmaster Flash Takes The Get Down back to 1977

By |August 8th, 2016|Categories: Entertainment, Featured, Film News, National News, New York, New York City, Pop Culture, Previews, YouTube|Tags: , , , , , |

Netflix is set to release The Get Down on August 12. The story tells the ongoing saga of New York hip-hop, and shows the birth of the art form, while living on the brink of bankruptcy. The location of The Get Down is in New York City during 1977. This historic view of music is layered with drama, and chronicles the transition to hip-hop during the last days of disco. It is told through the lives, and expression from the South Bronx residents who would impact the music industry in grandmaster fashion.
