New Orleans funk is knocking on the door to Beats Antique, and the Oakland trio is ready to open the door and 'Let It All Go' with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. When musical acts have joined forces with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band I have seen mixed reactions, but with the latest collaboration between both bands, I sincerely hope they get to share the stage together at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans at the end of October. TAUK Releases Sir Nebula with Extensive Fall Tour
TAUK, a New York-based quartet, has recently released their latest album Sir Nebula via 1320 Records. To celebrate the release, the band performed a two night stand at the Brooklyn Bowl. Their fall tour continues with festival appearances at: Catskill Chill Music Festival, Hangtown Music Fest, and several concerts in theaters, music halls and venues across the United States. Sir Nebula expands upon the band's sound from their first two albums, and shines light to influence from their touring with Umphrey's McGee. Day for Night Festival Lineup Featuring ODESZA, Aphex Twin, Björk
The inaugural Day for Night Festival 2016 is being hosted by Free Press Houston and a New York-based creative firm known as Work-Order. The festival has recently announced the lineup with over 60 live acts performing on multiple stages. Day for Night will be utilizing more than 1.5 million square feet of hybrid indoor-outdoor space at the former Barbara Jordan Post Office on Franklin Street.
