Emmanuel Macron is Elected as President of French Fifth Republic

By |May 9th, 2017|Categories: Featured, France, Paris, Politics, World News, YouTube|Tags: |

The French Fifth Republic has traditionally been controlled by a two party system with the left-influenced socialist party, Parti Socialiste; and the traditional right, known as Les Républicains. On Sunday, May 7 Emmanuel Macron was elected as the youngest the President of France. His background is heavy in financial management, but he lacks political experience. The lack of political experience, and working as an independent, served to help him get elected with 66.10 percent of the vote. In connection with Donald Trump's recent political win, this also marks a new trend in anti-establishment overall. Both Trump and Macron had no political work experience. A difference

Nikki Lane is off to a hot start for her 2017 Highway Queen tour. The international tour has won over hearts at the Stagecoach Festival, as well as listeners on major radio and television stations. Her blending of affection and rebellion within music creates a special dichotomy. The Nashville-based country singer produces a soulful mix of alternative California country rock. Brandi Carlile is from Seattle, but reminds me of Nikki Lane's spirit. There is a revolution taking place in the music industry with a large influx of strong women leading the pack. Preview 'Jackpot' performed live on CONAN. Also check out that

United Kingdom Removes Coal from their Energy Grid for a Day

By |April 30th, 2017|Categories: Clean Energy, Economy, Environment, Europe, Featured, London, National News, Politics, United Kingdom, United States, World News|Tags: , , , |

Traditional forms of energy production are eroding faster than the metal pipes used to extract fossil fuels from the earth. Recently, the United Kingdom completed an entire day without the use of coal to power the country. The country has decreased their production of coal from 20 percent in 2014, to almost little or no production in 2017. Renewable energy continues to replace coal for price efficiency. One counter argument to the progress in sustaining the environment with renewable energy is that countries like the United Kingdom, Iceland, Albania and Paraguay are smaller in comparison to the United States and China.

By |April 29th, 2017|Categories: Economy, Entertainment, Featured, Film News, National News, Netflix, Pop Culture, United Kingdom, YouTube|Tags: , , , , , |

Netflix experienced an issue of theft and hacking that took place at Larson Studios, a postproduction service in Los Angeles, during late 2016 or early in 2017. The hackers will remain anonymous, but the issue of stealing digital files from major streaming networks is a serious problem. The New York Times reported: 'Netflix had announced this year that Season 5 of “Orange Is the New Black” would be released June 9, and it was not immediately clear whether it planned to move up the release date.' Leaked content is a major problem for film and music. Major record labels and studios

One of the best independent releases from 2016 was released by Peter Bjorn and John titled Breakin' Point. This beautiful piece of music is available on physical and digital platforms. I was first turned on to the project when the band got in touch with press materials for the international tour that started in 2016, and has continued through 2017. We often get press materials from a wide mix of producers and creators in different forms of entertainment. Once I saw that Peter Bjorn and John were releasing a follow up to their 2011 album Gimmie Some, I was instantly interested

Public demand has reached an all-time high for streaming music services. Recently, reports have surfaced showing how much each streaming service is paying artists. First, I want to note that it costs a lot of money to build, maintain and store servers that data is kept on for each company. When you download videos in comparison to songs, you will see a major difference in file size. That file size for one song or video is multiplied when we take in consideration how many people are using and uploading content. My solution to the music streaming service is creating
