Marshmello Continues 2016 with International Tour
Marshmello, DJ and music producer, has recently announced world tour dates that stretches into next year. The tour will feature +35 live concerts featuring the music from Marshmello. After a successful summer tour, the producer is looking to build on that momentum moving into the fall season of touring. A Thursday show has been added to Marshmello's Los Angeles run at the Shine Expo. In addition to shows in the United States; the tour covers venues in China, India, and Paraguay. MTV VMAs 2016 Goes Live from Madison Square Garden
Brittany Spears & G-Eazy, Nick Jonas & Ty Dolla $ign have both been confirmed to join forces at the MTV VMAs taking place in downtown Manhattan on Sunday, August 28. The marks the first time the event has been held at Madison Square Garden in its 33-year history. In addition to the award show, MTV has recently announced that they will open their historic vault with a curated selection of MTV Firsts. This show will be a 30-minute special that will air on Saturday, August 20 at 4:50 p.m. ET/PT. This will take place on MTV, and gear fans up for the award show the following weekend.
Big Gigantic Brighter Future Tour + New Album
Big Gigantic is prepping for a new album titled Brighter Future set for release on August 26. The album explores a variety of vocalists to layer with the big beats from the Denver duo. This project takes listeners on a nationwide trip with a stops in Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, Memphis and a special performance with the Motet at Hulaween in Florida. Rowdytown V is set for September 23 and 24 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside of Denver. This hometown show is always a memorable weekend of live music. Friday tickets are still available. Saturday tickets have now sold out.
Sundance Institute Explores Cinematic Virtual Reality with the Jaunt VR Residency Program
The Sundance Institute has recently added new virtual reality projects to the Jaunt VR Residency Program. Daniel Arsham, Yung Jake, and Lily Baldwin & Saschka Unseld are set to showcase their work in a six-month program designed to aid artists with breakthrough technology, virtual reality and immersive storytelling. The program will provide artists with new ways of delivering narrative through cinematic virtual reality and will have the opportunity to receive a grant to make their virtual reality short films. The Floozies, a duo from consisting of Matt and Mark Hill from Lawrence, Kansas, have recently released fall 2016 tour dates. Engineers in California are trying new methods to produce renewable energy with their roadway system. Recently, state officials have gave the green light to a pilot program including piezoelectric crystals that will be installed on several freeways.
