Transportation Disrupted with Uber in Southern Illinois and Ride Austin in Texas
The automotive industry is currently in a state of disruption. Last year Uber and Lyft halted their service in Austin, Texas. Recently, Uber launched the service in the southern section of Illinois. Each market reacts differently to technology. After a rocky start in Austin, Uber and Lyft both decided to pull their product from one of the biggest markets in the United States. Last month, Uber started allowing drivers in Carbondale, Illinois to use their ride-sharing application to help people on foot. Each of these markets are different and similar in several ways. Record Store Day 2017 Releases Limited Vinyl to Music Hungry Consumers
Record Store Day and Earth Day have collectively made Saturday, April 22 one of the best days of the year. In 2008, a small list of titles was released on Record Store Day and that list has grown to include artists and labels both large and small, in every genre and price point. Ten years later, independent record stores across the world help release limited edition copies of vinyl records. This initiative helps local businesses keep their doors open. Uber and Lyft Arrives in Carbondale, Illinois
Two of the biggest ride sharing companies, Uber and Lyft, have recently begun providing service in Carbondale, Illinois. The city of Carbondale has amended part of ordinance to allow Uber and Lyft to operate, but that amendment does not take place until April 1. This has resulted in fewer drivers on the road in March. With it being St. Patrick's Day, I hope the city would be comfortable for drivers to work on this holiday. After April 1, the two companies will have service widely available in Southern Illinois. One quick tip to using Uber and Lyft: download both applications,
Record Store Day Black Friday 2016 New Releases on Vinyl
Record Store Day Black Friday provides new music on vinyl records to independent record stores around the United States. Each April Record Store Day works with musicians and indie record stores to connect fans with limited released material. This has grown in such popularity that they have added a second day on Black Friday to give the opportunity of releasing limited music a second day in the year. In my area within Southern Illinois, we are kind of spoiled with indie record stores in comparison to large cities that may have fewer, and larger populations. The ability to be

YouTube Red is amping up their original content with ads running in movie theaters this winter. Online users that watch YouTube videos can experience it ad-free with YouTube Red. As an independent media producer for YouTube, I recently sent a pitch to the company on working more together in 2017. During the pitch, I mentioned that I would create a list of the top YouTube channels in Illinois to show our value in comparison to other media producers within the fifth largest state. Since YouTube does not currently have a ratings system for the channels per state, I'm going

The park has several trails to choose from including: Post Oak, Devil’s Standtable, Giant City Nature Trail, Stonefort, Indian Creek, Trillium and the Arrowwood trail. My first trail was on Devil's Standtable. I found out that visitors can rock climb to the summit, or hike around the bluffs to reach the top. It was more enjoyable

The doors opened at 8 p.m. and the Way Down Wanderers performed from 9-10 p.m. Their traditional bluegrass sound reminded me of the Henhouse Prowlers. Both bands showcase the Chicago bluegrass style, and I enjoyed listening to their approach to live music before the Jeff Austin Band got ready to go.
