Big Muddy Film Festival at SIUC Words by Matthew McGuire The Big Muddy Film Festival returns for its 36th year in Southern Illinois with special film screenings, workshops and more surrounding the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus this February 18-23. Students, faculty and staff are all welcomed to view the screenings for free admission this year. Joe Swanberg, filmmaker and director of 'Drinking Buddies' will be screening his film that was distributed on Magnolia Pictures. This film will be featured to open the festival on Tuesday night with a reception that meets from 5-6 p.m. at the Student Center International

North Coast Swarms Chicago DVBBS Chicago - The Fourth Annual North Coast Music Festival swarmed Union Park and a collection of downtown venues Aug. 30 through September 1. The event pushed on through difficult weather on Friday, and celebrated summer’s last stand on Sunday in sunny conditions. Passion Pit, The Disco Biscuits, Nas, Big Gigantic, Afrojack, Wu-Tang Clan, Lotus and many more exciting acts filled the stages over Labor Day Weekend.
