Amazon Announces the Alexa Socialbot Artificial Intelligence Challenge
Amazon, a Seattle-based technology company, announced today that they will be hosting the Alexa Prize Competition. This annual competition will take place on a college level at universities, and will focus on developing and managing code that will benefit the field of artificial intelligence (AI). "The Alexa Prize challenges students to build socialbots that can acquire knowledge and opinions from the web, and express them in context just as a human would in everyday conversations," said Rohit Prasad, Vice President and Head Scientist, Amazon Alexa. Justin Timberlake and The Tennessee Kids have released a trailer to their live performance from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas that is set to stream on Netflix. The performance will be available to stream starting on October 12 exclusively on Netflix. Amazon Studios has recently announced the reboot to The Tick, a theatrical release to to I Love Dick, and Jean-Claude Van Johnson will be coming soon to Amazon Prime Video. "These pilots were vast in scope, disruptive in tone, challenging in story and sometimes even funny," said Joe Lewis, Head of Half-Hour Series, Amazon Studios. This collection of pilots may have been apart of the most-watched pilot season with Amazon Studios, but they lack a sense of creative depth in my view. Carbondale Rocks Revival has recently announced that G. Love and the Special Sauce will be performing on Friday evening from 10:45-12 p.m. for the 6th annual event in downtown Carbondale, Illinois.
