Cyclone Debbie in Australia a Category 4 Storm with Winds up to 185 mph

Cyclone Debbie is currently a category three storm that is expected to hit Australia on Tuesday as a category four storm. The severe storm is expected to have winds of 140-185 mph. Residents living in low-lying houses near Townsville have been relocating temporarily. Reuters reported on the death that occurred: 'Police blamed the wild weather associated with the storm for a traffic accident in which a 31-year-old female tourist died. Project Sunroof by Google Provides Insight on Solar Power Production in the United States

Google and Project Sunroof recently collected data on the areas in the United States that would be the most viable to produce solar power energy. They collected data covering over 60 million buildings. This project does an excellent job of locating and connecting with the cities that can have the biggest impact against carbon emissions caused by climate change. They released the top ten cities with the highest potential for solar power production. Those cities include: Houston Los Angeles Phoenix San Antonio New York San Diego Jacksonville Oklahoma City Dallas Albuquerque Google also reported data from their nationwide research.

The Bonnaroo Music Festival has just released their 2016 Sustainability Report covering their efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle. One of the unique and environmental-based concepts to the Bonnaroo Music Festival is the Solar Stage that is completely run on solar power. Clean Vibes helps coordinate tons of recycling each year at Bonnaroo. In 2016 they collected 155.1 tons of recycling, 347.18 tons diverted from landfill, and 536.22 tons of food waste recovered.
