Last week, Colonial Pipeline had an oil spill that took place on September 9 in Shelby County, Alabama. After the spill, more than a quarter of a million gallons of oil have been leaked into Shelby County. Oil and gas continues to create environmental issues across the world. As the United States rapidly moves toward renewable energy, there is still a large amount of energy being produced with oil and gas. The pipeline that burst starts in Houston and ends in New Jersey. It supplies a large amount of the gasoline to power automobiles in the eastern section of the

10 Reasons Why Computers Are Not Journalists

By |August 28th, 2016|Categories: Economy, Featured, National News, Tech News|Tags: , , , , , , , |

As a journalist, I find that the recent wave of removing jobs from people with experience in the journalism industry to save money with algorithms is unreasonable, unethical, and displays a backwards thinking mentality. To explore my theory, I plan to show the different dimensions of being a journalist, and the capacity a human being has to do the different jobs, along with the current state of electronics and robotics in mass market today. If a company is investing in a limited ability in overall news gathering, it displays to me, a mismanagement of the resources in the company. Let's look

The 14 locally-transmitted cases of the Zika virus have been reported near Miami, and in the Florida area. New York City is currently working to prevent mosquitos from populating in heavy traffic areas. The New York Times mentioned that the city plans to increase spending to

California Roads Expand with Renewable Energy

By |August 14th, 2016|Categories: California, Clean Energy, Economy, Environment, Featured, Japan, National News, Tech News, YouTube|

Engineers in California are trying new methods to produce renewable energy with their roadway system. Recently, state officials have gave the green light to a pilot program including piezoelectric crystals that will be installed on several freeways. The crystals generate electricity by a form of kinetic energy as automobiles drive over the roadway. This system has been shown to be successful in other parts of the world, such as Japan, and now will have the opportunity to help the United States transition to renewable energy. EcoWatch notes: In fact, scientists estimate the energy generated from piezoelectric crystals on a 10-mile

It would be interesting to see Amazon work more with the Sundance Film Festival to provide a section of the site focused on the films being screened at the film festival, past films and 3D projects. It would be great to have a preview function to stream the movies, and a watch later option, to buy the film after it is
