Emmylou Harris, singer/songwriter, has announced a fall tour featuring a talented group of musicians sitting in during select shows. Steve Earle, Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller and The Milk Carton Kids will be working with Harris as she travels across North America to help raise awareness about helping refugee crisis in Europe and beyond. The 11-stop tour, Lampedusa: Concerts for Refugees, will showcase Harris' talented live performances, as well as help display the urgent need to support the unprecedented worldwide refugee crisis. MTV VMAs 2016 Goes Live from Madison Square Garden
Brittany Spears & G-Eazy, Nick Jonas & Ty Dolla $ign have both been confirmed to join forces at the MTV VMAs taking place in downtown Manhattan on Sunday, August 28. The marks the first time the event has been held at Madison Square Garden in its 33-year history. In addition to the award show, MTV has recently announced that they will open their historic vault with a curated selection of MTV Firsts. This show will be a 30-minute special that will air on Saturday, August 20 at 4:50 p.m. ET/PT. This will take place on MTV, and gear fans up for the award show the following weekend.

The Floozies, a duo from consisting of Matt and Mark Hill from Lawrence, Kansas, have recently released fall 2016 tour dates. The band is set to perform Labor Day weekend at the North Coast Music Festival in Chicago. They will be performing on a the Skyline Stage, (one of the main stages) from 6:45 to 7:45. Netflix is set to release The Get Down on August 12. The story tells the ongoing saga of New York hip-hop, and shows the birth of the art form, while living on the brink of bankruptcy. The location of The Get Down is in New York City during 1977. This historic view of music is layered with drama, and chronicles the transition to hip-hop during the last days of disco. It is told through the lives, and expression from the South Bronx residents who would impact the music industry in grandmaster fashion.
