Suwannee Hulaween, Silver Wrapper and Purple Hat Productions have announced the costume contest theme. The String Cheese Incident will host three day of live music during Halloween weekend October 28 – October 30, 2016. Suwannee Hulaween returns to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL. Hulaween organizers have announced that Stringier Things will be the theme. Deep Roots Mountain Revival Music and Arts Festival will be taking place in Masontown, West Virginia from September 15-18. Augmented reality has picked up heat in 2016 with the release of Pokémon GO. The international sensation brought a new form of interacting in between entertainment and reality into the mainstream. In a recent article by Google Australia, they discuss the updates taking place with Project Tango. This project focuses on using augmented reality to interact with spacial objects and smartphones. Band of Skulls, based out of Southhampton, is currently touring to support their latest album, By Default on BMG Records. The band's North American tour is kicking off tonight at the Royale in Boston. Their latest record was produced by Gil Norton, with former recordings done with: Pixies, Foo Fighters, and Patti Smith. Tour National Parks with Virtual Reality and YouTube 360
Last August, our country celebrated the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service. Google put together a virtual reality project in YouTube 360 to give viewers a taste of the eye candy within the National Parks. Kenai Fjords, a National Park in Alaska, is toured by a group of travel guides as they capture the natural beauty. Within the immersive viewing experience, this short film starts off with a group of rock/glaicer climbers rappelling down two sections of Alaskan ice. The Clash Between Honey Bees and the Zika Virus
The recent developments with the Zika Virus has put North and South Carolina in a tough spot. These two states connect with Florida, and have been releasing a chemical called Naled to combat mosquitos in their area. Even though there has not been a reported case of the Zika virus being locally-transmitted, The Washington Post notes that South Carolina does have over a dozen cases report for travel-related Zika.
