Suwannee Hulaween 2016 Review and Multimedia from Sunday, October 30
On the final day of Suwannee Hulaween 2016, the event organizers planned to cap off the entertainment with Big Gigantic on the Meadow Stage. Suwannee Hulaween 2016. Photo by: Matthew McGuire. The day started off hotter in comparison to the other three days with less clouds and more sunlight. We were lucky to have an overcast for most of the weekend. Overall the weather was spectacular. My day kicked off with bluegrass from The Travelin' McCourys. The lineup to the band looked like it might have changed since the last time I had seen them in 2012.

Guests, vendors, artists and musicians gathered once again on Saturday to celebrate the end of summer. The Spirit Lake area provided room for a wide range of creative talent to showcase their skills in costume design, wood working, lightening, painting, yoga, mediation, music, slacklining, juggling and hula hooping. Suwannee Hulaween officially opened the festival gates to guests with three days passes. On Friday the festival hosted live entertainment featuring: Karl Denson, Gramatik, The String Cheese Incident, Future Rock and many more talented musicians. It marked my first time covering the event with Tony. My primary goal was to capture the event with photos and film, but with such an expansive festival, I wanted to help him out with the context and background on the live performances. Hulaween 2016 Hosts the Most Wicked Pre-Party in Camping Music Festival History
4 stages, 24 total acts, including EOTO, Marco Benevento, a late night Greensky Bluegrass show, and 2 sets of Umphrey’s McGee. That’s what you call a Pre-Party at Suwannee Hulaween! Needless to say the bar was set high early in the weekend. Marco Benevento was the first of many to funk up the Amphitheater stage during the extra warm afternoon. EOTO & Friends As always EOTO helped get this party going on Thursday, but taking the stage somewhat earlier than last year and being joined by Umphrey’s McGee’s guitarist Jake Cinniger and Break Science’s Borahm Lee.

Papadosio and Lee Turley Music hit Mainstage Morgantown on Wednesday, October 12. The concert hall filled with electronic dance music enthusiasts. The bands collectivity joined together to host an evening in Morgantown, West Virginia. Papadosio is touring on their Pattern Integrities Tour across the United States. Redman & Method Man, Thievery Corporation and More Mix it Up in Miami at III Points Festival
III Points celebrated their fourth-annual music, art & technology festival in Miami this past October 7-9. Hurricane Matthew moved across the coast of Florida on Friday, October 7. The storm created serious problems for the LCD Soundsystem road crew. The band was unable to safely transport their gear to Miami during Hurricane Matthew. III Points did note that the band would be unable to perform, but it gave a chance for Vince Staples to step up to a headlining position. Spiritual Rez Drops New Album Setting in the West
Spiritual Rez, a Boston-based reggae-punk band, recently released Setting in the West on their own record label featuring a talented cast of musicians working behind the scenes. Setting in the West is a 10-track LP that was produced by AWOLNATION's Kenny Carkeet, and co-produced by Eve 6’s Max Collins. It features guest appearances by Duddy B of Dirty Heads, Hirie, Billy Kottage from the ska/punk group Reel Big Fish, as well as Goldfinger’s John Feldmann helping co-write 'Red Room.' Carbondale Rocks Revival hosted their 6th Annual music festival in downtown Carbondale, Illinois on September 30 & October 1. The city of Carbondale and members from the Carbondale Music Coalition help put together this event. Caylan Hill, event organizer, noted that over 3,000 guests attended the two day event featuring: G. Love and the Special Sauce, Houndmouth, The Woodbox Gang, Split Lip Rayfield, Aaron Kamm and the One Drops, as well as several local, regional and national acts. Bob Weir's latest album Blue Mountain is officially available in stores and on major online music outlets. Weir is currently on the road with the Campfire Tour.
