Gear VR is a headset with an optional controller that is in partnership with Oculus and Samsung. The hardware works in connection with software available via the Oculus Store. After experiencing Google Cardboard and YouTube 360 content, I wanted to take the next step in virtual reality without investing too much into the platform. When the Galaxy S8+ was on pre-order, I was able to connect with a deal that provided a free headset and controller. Samsung currently has the product available for $130 before taxes (with the controller). Which is a fair price in comparison to the other virtual

Samsung and Oculus is working together to provide over 20 new virtual reality projects to Gear VR. In addition to the new titles, Samsung also provided a promotional/preorder run of Gear VR for consumers that purchased the Galaxy S8. For those that miss the preorder, Gear VR with the controller is $129. I suggest this model for virtual reality users that have had some experience with virtual reality, but still waiting for more people to adopt to consuming content on the same VR platform. One element that I enjoy about Gear VR with controller is that feels like a

Zenimax Wins Intellectual Copyright Case Against Facebook’s virtual reality company Oculus

Facebook recently lost a 500 million court case to Zenimax over the intellectual property rights to the software and hardware used in the Oculus product line. After Facebook bought the virtual reality company in 2014, they moved forward with failed projects. This past holiday season the hardware and software was underdeveloped and overpriced. It did poorly for Facebook, but advertisers kept throwing money away with their advertising system. This 500 million dollar loss is a fraction of the profit they made in the fourth quarter of 2016 alone. With the amount of money the company is making overall, it would make

Oculus has recently showcased some of their latest technology at Oculus Connect this past October 5-7 at the San Jose Mcnery Convention Center. Virtual reality is amping up with the holiday season approaching, and Oculus has been taking pre-orders for Oculus Touch, (handheld sensors that interconnect with the visuals being produced in the headset.) Oculus Touch gives users the ability to interact with digital content via handheld devices. A popular video game, Rock Band VR, will let gamers feel the experience of being live on stage during the process of playing a song. Imagine that you can view in 360

Fall Trends in Virtual Reality with Oculus 3D Technology

Oculus, a virtual reality technology company, has continued to push forward despite their ongoing legal battles. The company is currently in the process of working with the legal system to settle a dispute over intellectual property rights within the company. My view on intellectual property is that the producer should be compensated for their work. As a producer myself, I understand that you have to protect your information in a similar manner as other products to a business. As the company releases more videos games and virtual reality projects, the holiday season is looking to be stocked with new titles
