Google is diving into the deep end with advertising options in virtual reality. The company is currently developing prototypes to create a more interactive viewing experience for users. Take a closer look at their more recent prototype with a multi-dimensional cube that providers the user the ability to sort through a list of interactive options. Google/Alphabet is also providing a method for producers to build interactive ads for the Android platform. I've signed up for the development team, but often find myself reporting news, and have little time to develop new skills. Virtual reality is an interesting medium for

Gear VR is a headset with an optional controller that is in partnership with Oculus and Samsung. The hardware works in connection with software available via the Oculus Store. After experiencing Google Cardboard and YouTube 360 content, I wanted to take the next step in virtual reality without investing too much into the platform. When the Galaxy S8+ was on pre-order, I was able to connect with a deal that provided a free headset and controller. Samsung currently has the product available for $130 before taxes (with the controller). Which is a fair price in comparison to the other virtual

Samsung and Oculus is working together to provide over 20 new virtual reality projects to Gear VR. In addition to the new titles, Samsung also provided a promotional/preorder run of Gear VR for consumers that purchased the Galaxy S8. For those that miss the preorder, Gear VR with the controller is $129. I suggest this model for virtual reality users that have had some experience with virtual reality, but still waiting for more people to adopt to consuming content on the same VR platform. One element that I enjoy about Gear VR with controller is that feels like a

The first day to the Facebook F8 Conference was held today. Overall I felt it lacked focus at demoing new products to get people excited about upcoming developments within the company. "We're making the camera the first Augmented Reality Platform." - Mark Zuckerberg The conference did shine light on social interaction within virtual reality. The Social VR application launched today on beta. Overall it looks cute, but has a lot of work to be done before it has a definable purpose. One major flaw I see in virtual reality shared experiences in general is compatibility. Users will need to have

The Valve platform is launching a series of virtual reality games, and with both the hardware (the Vive) and distribution (Steam), the company is looking to take gaming to the next level. "Right now we're building three VR games." Gabe Newell, Valve founder These new games will have a great deal of influence over the users. I wanted to share and review some of the current VR games to give some insight on the direction gaming should be heading in for the future. As I reviewed different virtual reality games, I found a YouTuber, SayItsBradley that does demos of video games
