The Guardian recently reported that air pollution in the United Kingdom causes over 40,000 premature deaths each year. In order to build solution to this epidemic, they noted: 'Five cities and 23 local authorities have been selected in the new plan to come up with measures to reduce illegal levels of nitrogen dioxide by December 2018.' Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit recently spoke with Facebook Live from the Facebook Headquarters. His open Q & A focused on his personal experiences with mental health as a professional musician. In addition to Angelakos, there has been several other cases of high profile musicians needing a break from the music industry due to stress and fatigue. Kayne West, Justin Bieber, Gabriel Iglesias, Yelawolf and Modern Baseball. As a journalist that currently covers a lot of musical topics, I found it important to share some of the unseen huddles that musicians go through year round. In an era of social media and a

By |July 16th, 2017|Categories: Agriculture, Environment, Featured, Health, National News, United States, World News|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |

The University of Extremadura recently published research covering the connections between fungi and radiation. They uncovered that fungi can detect and measure the amount of radiation in the air and soil. The team measured the amount of radionuclides, (an atom that has excess nuclear energy, making it unstable) within mushrooms in Europe. Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory of the University of Extremadura (LARUEX) and Science Daily reported on the author's point of view: "This quantification is made using transfer coefficients that compare the radioactive content in the receptor compartment of the radioactive contamination, that is to say in the fungi, to that existing
