The Science Behind Fungi being able to Detect Radiation in Soil and the Atmosphere
The University of Extremadura recently published research covering the connections between fungi and radiation. They uncovered that fungi can detect and measure the amount of radiation in the air and soil. The team measured the amount of radionuclides, (an atom that has excess nuclear energy, making it unstable) within mushrooms in Europe. Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory of the University of Extremadura (LARUEX) and Science Daily reported on the author's point of view: "This quantification is made using transfer coefficients that compare the radioactive content in the receptor compartment of the radioactive contamination, that is to say in the fungi, to that existing
Celebrate Cow Appreciation Day with Ways to Sustain the Environment
Cow Appreciation Day is taking place today with the main purpose attempts to shift people away for overeating red meat. Recently, I cut out fast food from my diet. My body started showing signs of early aging at the age of 33, and I knew it was time for me to start focusing on my health if I wanted to add years to my life. During my diet transition I cut out all red meat for two weeks. I found that my body did not react well to the lack of red meat in my diet. I have started

The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Achieve an Important Win in Federal Court
The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe has picked up support in federal court following a ruling last Wednesday by Federal Judge James Boasberg. Boasberg has been reviewing materials behind Energy Transfer Partners, and has ruled in favor of looking at additional regulation for the Dakota Access Pipeline. TheStreet's coverage on Energy Transfer shows that the company behind the Dakota Access Pipeline 'has spilled hazardous liquids near water crossings more than twice as frequently as any other pipeline company in the country this decade.' In addition, Amy Goodman, reporter for Democracy Now!, mentioned that Boasberg ruled last Wednesday that the Trump administration failed

A Glance Behind the Scenes of the Marijuana Industry on April 20
For decades the federal government has been heavily controlled by lobbyists from major corporations. Pharmaceutical companies have been pumping billions of dollars into the economy, and for several years the government has created laws to imprison people for using drugs not sold by the major drug distributors. Once public demand for drugs started to shift towards marijuana, the drug companies started to take note, and have been shifting their focus more to medical marijuana. It can be noted that public demand does help influence law though. When consumers shift their demand, the lobbyists go running after the revenue, and the politicians listen

The Cross Section between Happiness and Success as an Entrepreneur
Success is a term that can hold multiple meanings to different people. As an entrepreneur, I have found ways to connect success and happiness. First, I started by looking up the Google definition of success: 'the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.' When I saw the word purpose, it reminded me of a conversation I listened to with Joe Rogan on happiness and having a purpose. The video is available to stream on YouTube. The conversation covered a philosopher known as Bertrand Russell that wrote about a groundskeeper with a purpose that was the happiest person he ever met. I do not
