Explore the 2017 Solar Eclipse in Makanda, and Carbondale, Illinois On Monday, August 21, 2017 a solar eclipse took place spanning coast-to-coast in the United States. This marked my first time covering an astronomy-based event. I experienced a learning curve at the same time as working on production. In the past, I have produced over 200 videos on YouTube, but this marked my first time producing a short film with narration that was over ten minutes in length. Sam Adams is currently hosting a month long tour of events nationwide featuring their line of Octoberfest beer selection. The festival tour stopped in downtown Denver to Larimer Square on Saturday, October 7. Oompah, Corey Harper, G. Love and the Special Sauce, as well as George Clinton and The Parliament Funkadelic performed on the outdoor stage. The festival was stocked with plenty of beverages and food to snack on. Astronomers and individuals from around the world will be taking place in the 2017 Solar Eclipse events this weekend and leading up to next Monday. The path of totality will pass through the United States with partial eclipse starting in Oregon close to 09:05 a.m. PDT. Carbondale, Illinois will have a viewing party at the Southern Illinois University football arena. For residents living in the area, as well as visitors before next Monday, the craft shop has smartphone filters on sale to grab photos of the solar eclipse. The rush to capture the upcoming solar eclipse has the United States centerstage for this monumental event. Many spectators will want to capture the solar eclipse with their smartphone cameras. To achieve the best results, it is best to have a solar filter to protect your eyes, as well as the photograph. It will be smart to plan ahead to have a solar filter ready. Supplies will get short closer to August 21. Currently, the Craft Shop within the Southern Illinois University's Student Center is helping photographers put together solar filters for cameras. A total eclipse will be taking place on Monday, August 21 across sections of the United States. This event will be the first total solar eclipse since 1918. The following states will have more visibility with the solar eclipse: Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Netflix has just released a new series titled Abstract: The Art of Design featuring industry leaders in design. Each of the eight episodes in the docuseries contains valuable interviews and points of view from established designers from different parts of the United States. The first season was launched on Friday, February 10.
