The Current Budget has Been Signed by Donald Trump The Senate has approved a massive budget deal in the early hours of Friday, February 9 to avoid a long-term government shutdown. On Thursday, February 8 the Federal Government began a temporary shutdown, but it has ended after the Senate and House of Representatives have voted in favor for the current budget. This marks the second government shutdown to take place in 2018. After the first shutdown provided a short-term fix to the bill, the recent vote by Congress has helped federal agencies stay open with a working budget. CNN reported: 'The

Executive Orders Shift Power from the Federal to State Government On December 14, 2017 the F.C.C. voted to temporarily remove the regulations regarding Net Neutrality. Several media outlets jumped to the conclusion that this was the end of Net Neutrality. In reality, it was only the beginning of the reinstatement process. 21 states are currently suing the F.C.C. for their vote regarding Net Neutrality. California, Montana, New York and New Mexico are currently building legislation that would take the regulations of Net Neutrality into their own hands. Out of these states California is the closest to passing legislation following the

Join the Live Stream Discussion with Recode and MSNBC Google CEO Sundar Pichai and YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki speak with Recode’s Kara Swisher and MSNBC’s Ari Melber along with a town hall discussion. The conversation so far has focused on internal decision making, artificial intelligence, and the future of technology. It would be more progressive if the interviewers pushed for reform within Google and YouTube. A lot of these questions feel like they were screened. I would put far more pressure on transparency regarding their decision making process. "We actually recently committed, Google committed a billion dollar for job retraining

How to Balance Entertainment and Respect Jerry Seinfeld is returning to Netflix with his latest season of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. As we age, our verbal and psychological filter becomes less and less. We tend to lose apathy and empathy for those that have been through emotional and psychological issues. With the rise of the #MeToo movement, I find a lot of the guests highlighted in this trailer for the latest season to be distasteful. As a male that can see the pain that sexual abuse can cause, I question Seinfeld's use of guests on his show. I also

By |January 20th, 2018|Categories: Economy, Featured, National News, Politics, United States, YouTube|Tags: , , , , , , , |

Are You Sick of One-Sided News Reporting? The federal government on Friday was unable to come to an agreement on the budget, and forced a temporary shutdown. Both Republicans and Democrats have noted that they will work over the weekend to reach an agreement. We have went through both sides of this political argument, and have produced a breakdown of each point of view to provide a well-balanced article on this subject. In 2013, the federal government was shutdown for 16 days. The only way for our country to make progress is by stop blaming one another for problems, and

By |January 19th, 2018|Categories: Economy, Featured, National News, Politics, Tech News, United States, YouTube|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , |

Algorithms and Ranking News Based On Popularity Is Not Healthy for Consumers Facebook announced today their plans to change the ranking of news stories to prioritize them based on trustworthy value of the publisher. In reality, journalism is not a popularity contest with the outlet that has the most
