Florence + The Machine Steals the Show on Sunday at Hangout Fest
Florence + The Machine closed down the Hangout Stage in grand fashion. Her set started early at 9:25 p.m. After four days of intense music, the festival celebrated their seventh year with fireworks and historic music on stage. Run the Jewels performed on the Surf Stage to a large audience. Their set was hardcore hip-hop that had political and intelligent storytelling. The crowd overall was the most energetic groups I have ever seen. On multiple occasions, I noticed groups of girls running for stage to stage. It takes real dedication to run to different stages. The next generation definitely
Saturday Recap at Hangout Fest 2016 from Alabama
Saturday’s weather provided clear, sunny skies and energetic people from all over the country and globe to party at Hangout Fest. We arrived to the beach to catch Portugal. The Man performing on the Hangout Stage. We ate some food, and ventured over to Camp Hangout. It was a recreational area for people of all ages to interact with kickball, a fire pit, water guns and relaxing shade during the early hours of the day. I can’t remember the last time I played kickball, and being 31-years-old, I felt like a kid again at bat. I did fail to
Friday at the Hangout Music Festival with The Weeknd
The Hangout Music Festival officially kicked off with wet weather. This year, The Weather Channel’s forecast was almost dead on. 3 days prior to the event, a storm system was shown to be moving into the area. On Thursday evening the weather wrecked the lighting rig for The Weeknd. He did perform a short set of hits on stage later in the evening. Alabama Shakes and Walk the Moon each delivered in perfect weather Friday night. Hangout Fest did a good job at working with the weather, and getting the gates opened as soon as the storm cells and

I Am Thalente Film Review with Insight from Director Natalie Johns
A Documentary on International Skateboarding with Thalente Natalie Jones, director for I Am Thalente, worked with Seed & Spark to produce a social conscious film project that portrays a life of a homeless young adult, Thalente Biyela, and his aspirations to compete on a professional level. When I first saw the trailer to the film, I experienced chills and goosebumps over the amount of drive and spirit within Thalente. It was clear that a higher power was telling me that this film had meaning, it contains substance, and a voice of reason in a world of chaos. "Hard word pays off." Thalente Biyela

Record Store Day 2016 | Album Reviews
Limited, Live and Local Record Store Day 2016 was celebrated on six continents worldwide. Local, independent record stores work with music distributors to provide exclusive, vinyl records one day a year. This year I went to Joe's Records in Marion, Illinois. It was the same record store I went to last year. 2014 was my first time being apart of Record Store Day. I went to an independent record store in Carbondale, Illinois. What I have noticed so far in a rural section of Illinois, is that Carbondale, being a college town, had a much larger demand for RSD than Marion
